Let’s take a hop, a blip and a jump into this week’s episode of the GoGCast! Our guest is Jared Petty, host at Kinda Funny but also the creator of many wonderful projects including Hop, Blip, and a Jump which is diary-documentary video series about how everything is games is connected, Red Dead Radio which is a podcast on - you guessed it - Read Dead Redemption and Pockets Full of Soup, a storytelling show about the people who help us make us who we are. Jared also wrote for EA and IGN. We chat with Jared about his passion for games, his current projects, and more.
This week in news: Runescape Classic is shutting down after 20 years, Fallout: Cascadia is a fan project looking to bring nature back to the wasteland, Far Cry 5’s first DLC is coming in early June and Fortnite is providing 100 million dollars in prize pools for esports events in 2018 and 2019.

We’re one month away from E3 2018 which means it’s time to do our predictions game! Each panelist came up with 5 things they expect from this year E3: trailers, announcements, reveals, surprises, etc. As we inch closer to June, we’ll check off which of our predictions were duds and which came true. The one who has the most confirmed items gets bragging rights and possibly a surprise.

Let’s spend some time on the ranch as this week, we speak with Kara Holmes, Community Manager at Monomi Park, the indie studio behind Slime Rancher. Kara shares how her love of talking video games with other gamers got her from working at Gamestop to joining the Slime Rancher team. She also shares stories from working on the bubbly happy and cute game, what she loves best about Slime Rancher and how the studio manages to constantly push updates and new content for the title and how they thrive on community feedback.
This week in news: Nintendo’s new president aims to build a billion dollar mobile gaming business, Dad God of War sells 3.1 million copies in the first 3 days, Pikachu was modelled after a squirrel and was supposed to have a fourth evolution.

We sit down with David Anfossi, Head of Studio at Eidos Montreal, to chat about the game, how Lara Croft evolved through this series, what we can expect from this game coming September 14th and more.

This week, we talk with Jean Leggett, CEO of One More Story Games. Based in Barrie, Ontario, this small studio is currently working with author Charlaine Harris (of True Blood fame) to turn her Lily Bard series into mobile games. Jean is also a keynote speaker and recently did a Tedx Talk on what 10 year-old taught her and her partner about their tech start-up. Jean shares with us the details about the murder-mystery Lily Bard project but also what’s next for One More Story Games.

We caught up with actors Patricia Summersett and Victoria Atkin. Both have brought to life many video game characters. Patricia is better known for her work as Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ash in Rainbow Six Siege, the Knight Warden in For Honor and Hope Jensen in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. Victoria’s credits include Evie Fry in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate,Mailen and Sekuli in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen WildsTitanfall 2, Shadow of War and is currently working with Blizzard & Sony Pictures. We chat with Patricia and Victoria about life as actors, their favourite thing about attending cons, what they are working on right now, what they are playing and more.
This week in news: Sega bringing its classic games to the Nintendo Switch, we go over the Bullyhunters fiasco, Cliff Bleszkinski’s Bosskey Studios to come out with yet another Battle Royale game and Rainbow 6 Siege now has 30 million players.

Plus, we close the show by answering a few community questions asked either on Twitter or on Discord.

Liberate Hope County with us as we review Far Cry 5. Although this game still sticks true to what the shooter franchise is known for, Ubisoft made key changes to tweak gameplay that drew us in. We discuss these changes plus the main story, side quests, characters, guns and fangs for hire, game play and more. We also compare our progression, choices and play style as Far Cry 5 offers a dynamic open world that is yours to explore and liberate from the cult by hiding in the shadows or by running in guns blazing and everything in between.
