This week in news: Nintendo holds Direct and announces that Doom and Wolfenstein are coming to the Switch and that Minecraft is now on 3DS, Okami HD is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Overwatch’s upcoming update includes the new payload map Junkertown and changes to characters, Jeff finally addresses the toxicity in Overwatch, GSP invests in esports and co-founds Montreal Esports and a battle royale mode is coming to Fortnite.

We were on location at Outerminds’ brand new offices in downtown Montreal for this week’s GoGcast. The studio is better known for their collaboration with Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (aka Pewdiepie), having produced two games for the famous youtuber: Pewdiepie: Legend of the Brofist and Pewdiepie’s Tuber Simulator. Guiz de Pessemier, one of Outermind’s 4 co-founders, walks us through the studio’s history, from when it was founded, to their first game all the way to their work with Pewdiepie.
This week in news: Nintendo announces their upcoming line-up of Nindies, Destiny 2 releases a bad-ass live action trailer and esports will most likely never make it to the Olympics.

We talk with Jeyson Acevedo, PR Manager at Ubisoft Canada, about how the partnership came to be, how was it to work with Ubisoft’s Rabbids and mixing it with Nintendo’s most iconic franchise, how it was to be in the room at E3 when Yves Guillemot and Miyamoto-san were on stage together and more.

We chat with Tina Nawrocki, a Toronto based 2D animator who is currently working on the much anticipated Cuphead. Cuphead’s style is based on 1930’s cartoons and it uses the same animation techniques: cell shading and watercolour backgrounds, mixing traditional animation with challenging gameplay. Tina shares with us her experience working with Studio MDHR and more.

We attended the 9th edition of the Montreal Comiccon and share our highlights of the all geek event: game demos, panels, celebrity Q&A, shopping and more.
Nintendo, WB Games and PlayStation were on site with great games to play, the latter having the Call of Duty: World War II demo playable for the first time in Canada. The Indie Game Zone was revamped and better than ever. The Artist Alley was bursting with talented artists and crafters and, like every year, the cosplay was on point.
