I hope you’re hungry cause today we are talking about video game food! If there is one thing that all video gamers have in common, it's that we all eat. Food, its preparation and its consumption has become a standard mechanic in many games. While some feature on the process of cooking as the entire experience (Cooking Mama), others use it as a means of crafting useful items (TLoZ BotW) or as a way to connect the gamer to the character they are playing. So in this week’s episode of the GoGCast we want to serve up a conversation on food in video games, because in games, sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too.

This week on the GoGCast, we dive into the world of playtests with Marie Roy, Coordinator for Ubisoft Montreal’s User Research Lab. Playtests are how studios evaluate how users interact with a game. Marie shares with us the mission of Ubisoft’s User Research Lab, gives us insight into how the studio tests their games, explains the difference between quality assurance and user playtesting, how gamers can get involved and more.
